The last several years we have seen a major shift in the way web site are developed for customers. Customers now want a web site that is easy to update and maintain. They want to have their updates, news along with new products posted as soon as possible to their site. So a lot of developers have been producing sites that use CMS(Content Management Systems). What is a Content Management System? The short answer is a web site built off of a database with dynamic content that a client can manage. There a several platforms that are available; such as, Joomla, Drupal, DotNetNuke, and WordPress.
We have produced sites in Drupal, DotNetNuke and WordPress. We have found that most clients who have a small to medium business really enjoy the ease of use, plugins, and extendable functionality that WordPress offers. WordPress is becoming a CMS that is rivaling the big 3, considering when it was started it was only a blogging platform and was not initially attended to be a CMS.
WordPress Plugins offer a great deal of interaction and integration into a great deal of web standard services, like Google Analytics, Google Maps, PayPal, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, Constant Contact and the list goes on and on…..
